Coordinators who understand records — not regulated matters
The people at Silverfile come from records management and library science backgrounds. They are comfortable sitting in a room full of disorganised papers and finding a structure that makes sense. They are not financial advisers, lawyers or accountants, and they do not pretend to have that expertise.
What this means in practice: questions that fall within our scope are answered clearly, in plain language, with public reference material. Questions that fall outside our scope are noted on the open-questions register and directed to a qualified professional. The boundary is written down, not assumed.
Small, achievable steps — not an overwhelming overhaul
The Guided Filing Programme is built around the idea that one drawer at a time is a pace most households can sustain. Each session sets one small piece of work and reviews what was completed before setting the next. No session ends with a list of homework that feels impossible.
The Legacy Records Programme runs over four months for the same reason: it is a thorough piece of work, and thoroughness takes time that should not be compressed for the sake of a schedule.
Digital output on your own devices — not a system you depend on us to maintain
The indexed archive produced in the Legacy Records Programme is established on storage you already own — your computer, an external drive, a cloud account you control. We write the naming convention, create the folder structure and label everything clearly. When the programme ends, the archive belongs entirely to you.
We do not host your files, manage your accounts or provide any ongoing technical dependency. You own the system; we show you how it works.
Unhurried, attentive sessions — not call-centre support
Each session is with a named coordinator who knows your household's situation. We do not rotate support staff or handle enquiries through a shared queue. If you have a question between sessions, you have email access to your coordinator for administrative matters.
The Orientation Consultation begins with listening — to what the household is hoping to understand, and to what has made starting feel difficult. The session moves at whatever pace makes sense.
Transparent, fixed pricing — no variable or time-dependent billing
Each programme has a single quoted price: RM 480 for the Orientation Consultation, RM 1,450 for the Guided Filing Programme, RM 4,700 for the Legacy Records Programme. There are no hourly extras, no additional charges for a session that runs longer than expected, no billing surprises.
What is included in each programme is set out in writing before the programme begins. If the scope needs to change, we discuss it before proceeding.
A finished, usable output — not an ongoing retainer
Each programme ends with something tangible: a category guide and session summary for the Orientation Consultation; a completed document map for the Guided Filing Programme; an indexed archive, orientation document, open-questions register and review calendar for the Legacy Records Programme.
These are outputs a household keeps and uses independently. We do not build programmes that require continued engagement with Silverfile to remain useful.
How we compare
Silverfile against the typical alternative
Most households approach retirement paperwork in one of two ways: alone, which is slow and often gets deferred indefinitely; or by asking a professional adviser, who tends to focus on regulated matters rather than the underlying organisation. Silverfile occupies a different position.
What sets us apart
Four things Silverfile does that are not standard practice
The orientation-first model
We offer a ninety-minute session specifically designed for households who are not sure they need further support. It is educational and informational. You can attend, understand the landscape and decide to do nothing further — that is a completely acceptable outcome.
Written open-questions registers
Every programme produces a written list of anything that should be taken to a qualified professional. This is not a verbal reminder — it is a document, specific to your household, that you take away and use.
No ongoing dependency
Each programme has a defined end point. The output we produce is self-contained and usable without any further involvement from Silverfile. We do not build programmes that require a retainer to remain effective.
Named coordinator throughout
You work with the same coordinator from the first session to the last. They know your household's collection, your preferences and the decisions already made. There is no handover, no briefing-from-scratch and no repeated explanations.
